Digital Waves, a Bangalore based IT company, has announced the release of a new Android 2.3-based 7-inch tablet 'Tabplus Rio'. It is powered by 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor with built-Mali-400 graphics processor.
The 7-inch screen uses capacitive touch technology with 5 points touch. Tabplus Rio weighs 350 grams and measures 203 x 120 x 13 mm. The tablet running on Android 2.3 and comes with a memory of 512 MB DDR2, and storage up to 32 GB via Micro SD.
The tablet has comes with Flash 11, and supports video calls on Skype with its front facing camera and HD video playback. However, there is no rear-facing camera.
Tabplus Rio has 4 page Gravity sensor, and supports the Android Market. When it comes to connectivity, it has HDMI and USB slot, WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. The tablet also supports USB dongle for 3G connectivity.
The tablet comes with a 3000 mAh battery with a 1 year warranty. Currently, the tablet only available via the company's office in Bangalore. Users can call 91 98807 15251 to buy the tablet. Although it is priced at Rs 11,999, the tablet is now available for Rs 10200.
Spokesman for Digigital Waves said: "Our company is a distributor of brands such as Mercury, Apple and Transcend, we are also working with both a larger version and a cheaper version of the tablet."
