country singer Mindy McCready and her five-year old son were found yesterday in Heber Springs, Arkansas. The troubled artist - who is pregnant with twins - had openly refused this week to go back five years old Zander for the care of his mother in Florida, and claimed that she was ready to protect the child, even if it resulted in prison.
"The child seemed to be in good condition when we found him ... he was in the closet with her mother," said David Rahbany, Deputy U.S. Marshall in eastern Arkansas, according to CNN.com.
The discovery - made on a home that is believed to belong to Mindy Girlfriend -. Caps a search that began Thursday night when the "Ten Thousand Angels' singer missed a deadline to return Zander to his grandmother, who has had custody since 2007 Singers show asked a judge in Lee County, Florida, to issue an emergency pick-up orders.
Mindy, who has a long history of drug and alcohol problems, took the boy from Florida earlier this week, claiming that her mother and stepfather, Gayle and Michael Inge, abused the child. The injury happened denied these allegations.
"I'm really happy that he is safe," Gayle for The Associated Press. "But I can not explain what it is. We feel for Mindy, and we feel for Zander."
Florida Department of Children and Families is reportedly working to return to Zander Inge, and it is unclear today whether Mindy - who is pregnant with twins - will face criminal charges.
