Nokia's move to ditch Symbian quite possibly not completely closed right now, but it has not stopped the Finnish company from ditching its name in the latest software update scheduled for February.
"The all new Nokia Belle (former Symbian Belle) interface will soon be available for download for some existing smart phones and handle a variety of smart phones already on the market," Nokia said, without making too much of a song and dance about the "past "element of this sentence.
In addition, the update will be delivered to Symbian phones, Nokia announced that they will be selling improved versions of N8 Nokia, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 with Nokia Belle preinstalled on the phone. These enhanced phones will be available starting in China, before taking the road to the rest of the world.
Nokia Belle gives you more home screens to extend the current three home screens you get with Nokia Anna to six. There are more screen space to host applications and widgets.
